Whose playing?

November 27th, 2009

This week could be a fantasy nightmare as many game time decisions are going to force last minute scrambling. Questionable are many of the game’s biggest fantasy stars.
Big Ben, Ray Lewis and Ed Redd are ???. This could be a very different game if Dennis Dixon battles a lesser Raven defense. Dixon is a rookie with immerse talent, but he is not Big Ben.
Kurt Warner has diffenent injuries in the neck to go with his concussion. If he doesn’t play, all bets are off on the Cardinals.
AP is ill and injured. If he is out, the Bears have a small chance to win. My name is Sweetness, what else can I say. Farve might get 400 yards if the Vikings are forced to throw more.
Benson and Turner maybe be back. If so, what happens to their backups?
Haynesworth might be out and then the Redskins good defense becomes suspect. Since, they can’t score, does this mean that McNabb and Company turn it into a route, with big scores for the Eagle’s stars?
Picking your fantasy teams this week will require mucho checking and last minute switches.
Have fun and GOOOOO Bears!!

Is this the end of the unbeatens?

November 27th, 2009

The question is can either one or both of them survive? The answer is yes… however, both teams face big challenges. The Colts are always suspect this time of year. Injuries to the defense are the biggest problem, but that wonderful offense is still perking at a fever pitch. I have no idea if they are going to win, but I would not bet against them.
The Saints face a different challenge and that is that the Pat’s lost one prime time game this year and can the Saints make it two in a row. Once again, I am not sure, but the Saints are very strong in all phases of the game. I think that with home field advantage they will win.
The two unbeatens now have no chance as this blogger is only 50% right in big games this year.
Best of luck to all this weekend

Week eleven…. lucky for whom?

November 18th, 2009

This week we are not going to say anything about the Bears (at least not much), Cutler or Psycho who writes nastygrams to Bloggers. He is really weird.
Some potential big games for members of the Colts, Steelers, Cardinals, Saints, Patriots, Bengals and Vikings. Look at their schedules (opponents have a 18-45 record) and say ooooooooooooooh boy, some patsies this week. The Colts have the toughest game, but Manning and Wayne are red hot. Anyone want to bet against them?
Big Ben, the receiving core of The Steelers and Mendenhall can’t wait for Sunday.
The same can be said for the Cardinals, just substitute names and score big.
The Patriots play the Jets who have a highly rated pass defense. This week I say who cares…Brady is angry.
The Bengals play the Raiders this Sunday. Every two or three weeks the Raiders play a decent game. I predict this is not one of the weeks. The only question is Benson’s health.
The Vikings are hot and get Seattle who cannot stop a good passer and the kid in Swedeville is a good passer. AP will get his and the Seahawks will again surrender mucho points. Finally, the Saints play the Bucs who have only been outscored by 99 points this year. Can global warming happen twice, I guess so, but I doubt it. Nice week to have Brees and Company.
Wild thought of the week, take Detroit’s defense…they play the powerhouse Browns this week in Detroit. Even, the Lions defenders have a chance to look good.
Go Bears and hold McNabb to 436 yards or less!!

BBBBBB

November 18th, 2009

Bill Belichick’s Brain Bust Belts Boston. OK, so they are called the New England Patriots, but 5Bs and NE doesn’t look as good. The important thing, however, is that the Pat’s are facing a sure road game and maybe even two in the playoffs because of the defeat to the Colts. This combined with the emerenge of the Bengals will make for a very interesting final 7 weeks. The Pat’s have road games against the Saints, the Texans and Miami. They could lose two of those and have only one home playoff game. The Steelers have two with the Ravens, a home game against the Pack and an away game against the Dolphins. That is not an easy schedule. The Bengals have two tough road opponents in the Vikings and the Chargers. They also have 4 games against the lowly ones. If Cincy doesn’t lose focus, they are the champs of their division. Wow, who would have thought that in August. If the Chargers don’t pull a Charger clunker, they can have home field advantage all the way to the Super Bowl. I own Charger season tickets, so I must say that that is alright with this blogger!!!!
No more byes, so now is the home stretch…a long one, but the stretch never-the -less. Use the improved Data Sense and your own intuition to take command of your fantasy future. It is there for the taking. Good luck!

Yuck!!!!

November 11th, 2009

What can this blogger say….I am a Bears fan and a fan of former Bears who are now head coaches….like the 49er’s. Last week both were bad, though from a fantasy standpoint there were some good scores for Cutler and Gore. Cutler’s and Warner’s big scores were predicted by this modest Blogger, however, the defenses of my favorite teams were really YUCKY!!!!!
FSO’s teams were only 500 last week, though there were some great scores that did not equate to wins. That sounds like fantasy rationalization….something that fantasy fans never do.
This week there are some interesting games besides the usual suspects being mentioned everywhere. San Diego and Philly have a great chance for some outstanding QBs and Receiver scores. Minnesota should feast on the Lions and GB and Dallas could see 60 or more points on the scoreboard. Look at your team and  pick your players accordingly.
Good luck and Go Bears!!!!!

Global warming hits Tampa

November 11th, 2009

What can a blogger say when he was dead wrong on Global warming and the effect on the Packers-Bucs game. Yes, for 3/4 of the game all was as was predicted. Then Global warming took over and the Packers melted faster than an ice cream cone in the Phoenix summer sun!!!!
Egads, is there nothing sacred in Packerville anymore? This team joins the Bears and the Ravens as those that will watch the playoffs from home this year. What disappointments these three are to their fans.
Now let’s look at the unbeatens….this week could be a big test for the Colts. If they win; they will have a great chance for home field throughout the playoffs. Much better for them than a outdoors match with the Pats or Steelers. This is reallllllly a big game this Sunday. No predictions other than the QBs will be in fantasylands high scores. Look for a shootout, with the ball flying all over the place. Good for the Kickers too.
The Saints go to St. Louieeee and should remain unbeaten….Global warming is now a possibility, I hate to admit. What a day for Brees.
So here’s the upset of the week. Baltimore beats Cleveland!!!! You say that is not an upset… and I say if you were a Browns fan, wouldn’t you be upset?

Big week for FSO’s teams.

November 5th, 2009

Wow, I just lost my draft……so here is version two. I don’t want to brag, but last week I predicted big things for the Saints, Cowboys and Bears. FSO’s teams combined for an 8-3 record with two league highs thrown in….what a week!!!

This week, we have some one time opportunities for some good scores by not so famous players, including Burleson, Bowe and the defense of the Falcons and Seahawks. Other more famous players who will do well include the Green Bay Packers, the Brady bunch and the firm of Peyton, Wayne  and Clark. Guys with hyphenated names will also score big, lead by Jones-Drew and Sims-Walker of the KC smashers Jaguars. What’s with two last names?

Finally, in Chicago I am betting that both Cutler and Warner do well, with the Bears winning when the Cardinals miss a field goal…how’s that for a prediction. Years ago, George Halas of the Bears, loaned money to the Cardinals owner so the team would not fold. The Cardinals were then the Chicago Cardinals and this weekend they pay back the loan.

Go BEARS!!!!

Every eight weeks or are we really half way through?

November 5th, 2009

Well, we are almost half way done, but some NFL teams are finished already. The bad part is that league championships are likely to be decided by who plays St. Louis or Cleveland or Detroit in the last few weeks. By then Tampa Bay will be on a six game winning streak after leaving the NFL and joining the Patriot conference in the Northeast.
Last week was the week that saw Forte, the Bears defense, Chris Johnson, the Titans defense, and some old guy play in his old stadium better than he has in 10 years, all have great weeks. It was quite a weekend and now the unbeatens and winless are down to a precious few. Who drops first from their lofty perch or lowly one? Not anyone this week, says this blogger.
Hot picks for the week include Brady, Peyton, Rodgers and Brees. RBs include Gore, Jones-Drew, Ray Rice and of course the Packers running back Grant. At tight ends how about The Colts Clark, Gates Celek and the 49er’s Davis. For WRs go with Moss and Welker of the Pats, Wayne, Andre Johnson, The Packers entire squad and Bowe of the Chiefs. He is there because KC needs some positive strokes.
Kickers include Gos…ski, Ackers, Kaeding and of course the Packer’s Crosby.
Defense/Special Teams include The PACK, Saints, Falcons (the opponent is the Skins) and the Seahawks. Seattle needs some positive strokes also.
If the Pack lose, blame it on global warming!!!!
